Today I Drank...

Turkish coffee with the most important women in my life. My grandmother, mother, aunt, and I enjoyed our morning together over coffee. From Assyrian, to Farsi, and back to English, we were sharing stories and catching up with one another. Traditionally, once one finishes drinking their Turkish coffee, you flip the cup in the saucer until the remaining coffee grinds form a pattern throughout the cup. Once we finish, my grandmother does the honor of revealing the story our cups have left us and declaring what our future holds.
